I love Cargo, which is for rideshare drivers and their passengers. This is a company through which manufacturers place goods available for purchase into the vehicles of rideshare drivers. Items range from lip balm and other personal care items to treats and snacks – even beverages. Each driver’s menu is unique, so no two will likely have the same items to offer, except for the most popular items.
It works like this:
In the driver’s vehicle, you will find a box and often a cooler as well. For every item that the driver gives away or sells, they get credit toward payment for the individual item as well as for the overall order. Drivers also get weekly bonuses and monthly bonuses – you can even tip your driver through the app, which counts toward their direct-deposited weekly payment.
While you’re in the car, and using your cell phone or other device, you simply visit the website shown on the box (http://cargo.menu) and then you put in the box number or scan the QR code. Once you’ve done this, you can see the driver’s menu. Free items are usually at the bottom, so scroll to see everything and make your selections.
If you order only free items (you’re currently – as of this writing – allowed up to four free items), you do not need to enter any personal information, but if you purchase one or more of the other items you can pay with several secure methods ranging from PayPal and Google to Venmo and credit cards. It’s quick and easy – I should know: when I’m stuck in traffic and I get hungry, that box is right there to order from! I especially like the probiotic mango bars.
If you are a rideshare driver, and would like to sign up for CARGO, please click here to use my referral code. You receive your box and all of its contents at no cost to you, all you have to do is give away and sell the contents to your passengers, and in return you get a little extra money each week.
Are you a driver or passenger with tales to tell about CARGO? If so, please comment below. I’d like to hear your stories.
